No. The Sisterlock Company offers retightening classes, priced at $250. Unfortunately, they do not offer post class support nor assistance with corrections. Some have also indicated that the class moved too quickly for them and the class size was a bit larger. We didn’t want this to be our testimony, so we decided to hold smaller classes so that we can provide thorough training with extended support/corrections for an additional 6 month post class.

No. Some individuals take the class just so can retighten their hair in a pitch. We have a few who will retighten a portion of their head (front or back) and allow me/their consultant to finish the remaining portion. Others will retighten their entire head and book 1-3 appointments throughout the year to ensure the grid hasn’t been compromised.

It is recommended that you leave a few rows un-tightened for the retightening class (See below). Section your hair in four sections, part down the middle and ear to ear. - 3 rows from the bottom left section (near the ear) - 3 rows from the bottom right secion (near the ear) - 2 rows from the bottom left section (bottom row) - 2 rows from the bottom right section (bottom row) * Hair should not exceed 1" of new growth. Growth over 1" can make it challenging for novice.

Different hair types require different patterns/locking techniques. Session 1 is reserved for individuals who have a 3 locking pattern. Eye glasses can interfere with retightening locs close to the ears. Those who wear contact lens find it easier to navigate in that area.

Typically, students who have long nails find it challenging to retighten their locks.

Typically individuals will notice a decrease in cost when they go for retightenings. The more you retighten, the less your consultant would have to retighten which will drive cost down. Check with your consultant to confirm.

Sisterlocks and Interlocks are offered as a package, which includes your Starter Shampoo. You will use this shampoo only when it comes to shampooing your hair, at least until you pass the slippage phase. We do recommend purchasing (2) spray bottles, one for water and the other for your shampoo.

You’ll have your virtual classes delivered over a video conference service called Zoom. You only need a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone, an internet connection, and decent lighting.

Things happen; things that make a mess of your schedule. Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, 24 hours notice is required. If this notice is not given, you will be charged $15, due at your next appointment or prior. You will be charged $25 at your next appointment if there is a no call no-show. If your appointment needs to be rescheduled due to the "Give and Take" policy, you will be charged $15, due at your next appointment or prior. It's not just your responsibility; it's mine too. In the unfortunate event that I need to reschedule your appointment, and if 24 hours notice is not give to you, you will be given a $15 discount on your hair service or $20 for a no call no-show.

I understand that sometimes there is traffic, or buses are running late, or you couldn't find your house keys. You will be granted a 15 minute grace period. However, if 15 minutes has elapsed after your scheduled appointment time, you may need to reschedule your appointment. In the event that I have time to honor your appointment, even if you are up to 20 minutes late, the late arrival fee schedule takes effect: 5-10 minutes late: $10 charge 11-20 minutes late: $15 charge These fees are due at your next appointment or at the time of your appointment. Same goes for me.
